It’s been a lifelong passion to create music and write poetry, and when I stumbled across an old album as a kid that featured Run DMC, I was hooked into the genre of hip hop.
Around 2007, beat-making and freestyle battles became prevalent in the area I lived, and around the end of high school I decided to take what I had with me on the road.
From October 2010 to March 2011 I traveled the country alone and created my first album. I recorded and produced everything in either a car, campsite, hotel room, or apartment. The album got me a record deal with an established recording label, but soon after getting signed, I decided to part ways and go on my own.
By mid-2015 I had created three more albums. In early 2016 after creating my 5th album, I decided it was time for a change and moved to Seattle, WA.
Since moving to Seattle I have performed at dozens of venues, created a few singles here and there, and improved my live shows. Now that COVID restrictions are beginning to lift, the show may begin again.
I've been temporarily laid off, and Seattle is now shutting down and in quarantine. Today was a beautiful day out so I went out for a hike, and then it dawned on me... This is a perfect time to make some new music! Then again when is it not. ???After a couple rough and busy years it took a lot to sum up the energy to get back on the microphone. This song was made to show the subliminal battle I went through to get back to it. The track is made from scratch, and recorded the video with my cell phone and nikon. ?#pappasbackPosted by POP on Tuesday, March 17, 2020
